My Settings
Change your display name and choose whether you are assigned to the orders, trips, and groups you create.
My Settings holds the settings that belong to you rather than to your workspace. You reach it from the gear button next to your name at the bottom of the sidebar. Every team member has it, whatever their role.
Your settings follow you. If you work in several workspaces, the same values apply in all of them, so you set them once.
Profile
Display name is the name your colleagues see: in assignment lists, on My Work, and at the bottom of the sidebar. Your initials, used in compact views such as assignment badges, are worked out from it.
Signing in with Google or Microsoft never overwrites a name you set here.
Assignment
These three switches decide whether the Assign to me box is ticked when you create something:
| Setting | Where it applies |
|---|---|
| Assign me to orders I create | Creating an order and duplicating an order |
| Assign me to trips I create | Creating a trip and copying a trip |
| Assign me to groups I create | Creating a group |
All three start off, so nothing changes until you turn them on. A trip planner might turn on trips only: they are assigned to every trip they set up, without being assigned to each order they enter for someone else.
The setting only decides how the box starts. You can tick or untick Assign to me for any single item without changing your setting, and you can unassign yourself later, just as after assigning yourself by hand. See Assignments for how assignments work.
Changing a setting affects only what you create from then on. It never adds you to, or removes you from, existing work.
How It Connects
- Assignments — The Assign to me box creates the same assignment as assigning yourself from the header.
- My Work — Items you are assigned to when you create them appear there straight away.
- Team — Admins manage roles and access there. My Settings only changes your own details.
