Configure the default sender identity and basic email templates for order confirmations, payment reminders, and receipts.
Email settings define your workspace's default sender identity and provide basic email templates for core communications. This page covers the foundational email configuration — the "from" address and name, plus simple subject/body templates for order confirmations, payment reminders, and payment receipts.
For advanced template customization with content blocks, template variables, and per-template sender overrides, see Managed Emails. Managed emails build on top of the defaults you set here.
How Email Settings and Managed Emails Relate
Itsy has two layers of email configuration:
- Email Settings (this page) — The default sender identity and basic text templates. These are quick to set up and suitable for simple email needs.
- Managed Emails — Pre-built templates for six types of system emails (Order Overview, Payment Receipt, Payment Reminder, Supplier Report, Gift Certificate Purchase, and Trip Email). Each managed email has a rich text editor, insertable content blocks, template variables, and the ability to override the sender per template.
When both are configured, managed email templates take priority for their respective email types. If a managed email is active, its content is used instead of the basic template defined here.
Sender Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Email Sending Address | The default "from" address on all outgoing emails. This is used unless a managed email template or action specifies a different sender. |
| Email Sending Name | The default "from" name on all outgoing emails |
The sender address configured here should be a verified sender for reliable deliverability. Emails sent from unverified addresses may land in spam folders.
Basic Email Templates
These templates provide a simple subject and body for three common email types. They are useful as a starting point or when you do not need the advanced features of managed emails.
Order Confirmation

Payment Reminder
Sent when you manually trigger a payment reminder from an order.
| Field | Description |

| Content | The email content (plain text) |
Payment Receipt
Sent when a payment is confirmed for an order.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Subject | The email subject line |
| Content | The email content (plain text) |
Common Tasks
Updating the Sender Address
- Navigate to Settings > Email Delivery
- Update the Email Sending Address and Email Sending Name fields
- Save your changes
All future emails from your workspace use the new sender details (unless overridden by a managed email template or action).
Customizing a Basic Email Template
- Navigate to Settings > Email Delivery
- Find the template you want to edit (e.g., Order Confirmation)
- Update the subject and content
- Save your changes
Switching to Managed Email Templates
If you need richer formatting, content blocks, or template variables:
- Navigate to Settings > Email Templates
- Select the template tab (e.g., Order Overview)
- Customize the content using the rich text editor and content blocks
- Make sure the managed email is set to Active
Once a managed email is active, it takes priority over the basic template configured here.
How It Connects
- Workspace Settings — The public display name and email set in workspace settings are used as defaults for sender information.
- Senders — Register and verify sender addresses with DNS authentication for improved deliverability. The sender email configured here should match a verified sender.
- Managed Emails — Advanced email templates with content blocks and template variables. Active managed emails override the basic templates on this page.
- Orders — Order confirmation and payment emails are triggered from orders.
- Data > Suppliers — Supplier report emails are sent to supplier email addresses configured in your data. Supplier reports use the Managed Emails template system exclusively.
