Categories

Organize your trips into categories for easy browsing and filtering.

Categories help you organize trips by type, theme, or destination. Each category has a name, color, and description. Customers and staff can filter trips by category, making it easier to find specific types of travel experiences.

How It Works

Every trip belongs to a category. When you create a trip without specifying a category, it is assigned to your workspace's default category. You can create as many categories as you need to reflect your product lineup -- for example, "Adventure Tours", "Cultural Trips", "Luxury Travel", or "Weekend Getaways".

Categories appear as color-coded badges on the trips list, giving you a visual overview of your trip portfolio. From any category's action menu you can click View Trips to filter the trips list to show only trips in that category.

Category Properties

Each category has:

PropertyDescription
NameThe category name (e.g., "Adventure Tours")
SlugA URL-friendly identifier, used for filtering trips by category
ColorA color used for the category badge on the trips list
DescriptionAn optional description of what this category includes
ActiveOnly active categories appear in selection lists and can be assigned to trips
DefaultOne category is marked as the default. New trips without a specified category are assigned here.

Common Tasks

Creating a Category

  1. Navigate to the Categories page (under Trips in the sidebar)
  2. Click Add
  3. Enter the category name
  4. Enter a slug (a URL-friendly identifier)
  5. Choose a color for the category badge
  6. Add an optional description
  7. Set whether this should be the default category
  8. Set whether the category is active
  9. Click Save

Editing a Category

  1. Find the category in the list
  2. Click the category name or select Edit Details from the action menu
  3. Update the name, slug, color, description, or status
  4. Click Save

Deleting a Category

  1. Find the category in the list
  2. Click the Delete action from the action menu
  3. Confirm the deletion

You cannot delete the default category. You also cannot delete a category that is currently assigned to trips -- reassign those trips to a different category first.

How It Connects

  • Trips -- Every trip belongs to a category. The trips list can be filtered by category, and categories appear as color-coded badges on each trip row.
  • Public Portal -- Categories help customers browse and filter available trips on your booking portal.
