2024 / Week 28
It's July. People are on holiday. Nothing much is happening. But I did a few small things this week.
It's July. People are on holiday. Nothing much is happening. But I did a few small things this week.
Been working on things under the hood this week. Rewrote the Rates a bit so that it is more clear how the products in the trips are priced. Simplified the products as well as I removed all product variants from the system.
I worked on the promocodes this week with some improvements, and fixed a few bugs. Email scheduling of these updates will change going forward.
After a very productive last week, this week has seen no meaningful progress at all, a part from 1-2 very small buggy things that I fixed.
A client using Itsy requested a promocode feature for public bookings, allowing customers to apply valid promocodes for discounts. Additionally, to manage information when dealing with external suppliers, the system now supports adding external product and booking references. Lastly, a default VAT category can be set for products to reduce user errors in the UI when creating new products, significantly decreasing mistakes.
Back in Iceland this week after a six month stay in Portugal, and back to the grind. This week was infrastructure focused, with cache and performance the main issues.
Not much happening this week, as I am trying my best to be on some sort of holiday, visiting friends in Norway.
The main theme for this week was to add a configurable way of collecting information about participants and clients in the public booking process.
