Traveler Questions

Create custom questions to collect information from travelers during the booking process.

Traveler questions let you define custom data collection fields that appear during the booking process. Use them to gather dietary requirements, accessibility needs, T-shirt sizes, emergency contacts, or any other information you need from travelers before a trip.

How It Works

You create questions in the Data > Traveler Questions library, then assign them to specific trips or products. When a customer books, the assigned questions appear as part of the booking flow. Staff can also view and edit answers from the order's Questions tab.

Common Tasks

Creating a Question

  1. Navigate to Data > Traveler Questions
  2. Click New Question
  3. Enter the question text
  4. Optionally add help text
  5. Select a field type
  6. For Single Choice or Multi Choice, add the available options using Add Option
  7. Choose the scope (Per Participant or Per Booking)
  8. Toggle Required if an answer is mandatory
  9. Click Create

Editing a Question

  1. Go to Data > Traveler Questions
  2. Click the question text or use the action menu and select Edit
  3. Update any fields
  4. Click Save

Changes to a question affect future bookings. Previously collected answers are not modified.

Archiving a Question

  1. Go to Data > Traveler Questions
  2. Open the action menu on the question row
  3. Select Archive

Archived questions can no longer be assigned to new trips or products, but any answers already collected remain intact. To restore an archived question, select Unarchive from the action menu.

Deleting a Question

  1. Open the action menu on the question row
  2. Select Delete
  3. Confirm the deletion

Deleting permanently removes the question. Any answers already collected are preserved, but the question text will no longer appear in the interface. Consider archiving questions first if you may need their context later; delete only when you're sure the removal is permanent.

Reviewing Answers on an Order

  1. Open an order and go to the Questions tab
  2. A progress bar at the top shows how many questions have been answered
  3. Questions are grouped by section (trip-level and product-level)
  4. Each question shows its answer status and, for per-participant questions, each participant's individual answer
  5. Click any answer to edit it inline

How It Connects

  • Orders — The Questions tab on an order shows all assigned questions with their answers and a completion progress bar.
  • Trips — Questions can be assigned to a trip, making them appear for all bookings on that trip.
  • Inventory — Questions can be assigned to individual products, making them appear only when that product is booked.
  • Order Readiness — Required questions that remain unanswered affect the participant information component of the readiness score.
