Tags
Label and organize trips and products with flexible, free-form tags for filtering and discovery.
Tags are simple text labels you attach to trips and products to organize, filter, and group them. Unlike categories or segments, tags are free-form — you can create any tag you need without pre-configuration. They are particularly useful for cross-cutting labels that don't fit neatly into a single category, such as "family-friendly", "summer-2026", or "premium".
How It Works
When you edit a trip or product, you can assign one or more tags from a shared list. If you type a tag that doesn't exist yet, Itsy creates it automatically. All tags are workspace-scoped — each workspace maintains its own set of tags.
Tags appear as filterable labels on the trips list and inventory products list. Customers can also browse trips filtered by tags through the public booking portal.
Key Concepts
Tag Properties
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The tag label, stored in lowercase and trimmed of whitespace |
| Active | Whether the tag appears in selection dropdowns |
Auto-Creation
You don't need to create tags in advance. When you assign a tag name that doesn't exist in your workspace, Itsy automatically creates it. This makes tagging fast and frictionless — just type and go.
Case Handling
Tag names are normalized to lowercase. "Summer", "summer", and "SUMMER" are all treated as the same tag. Leading and trailing whitespace is also trimmed.
Where Tags Can Be Applied
| Entity | Where to assign |
|---|---|
| Trips | Settings tab on a trip detail page |
| Inventory Products | Product detail page |
| Product Variants | Variant configuration |
Filtering by Tags
Both the trips list and the inventory products list include a tags filter. When you select one or more tags in the filter, the list shows items that match any of the selected tags.
On the public booking portal, customers can browse available trips filtered by tags, which is useful for themed landing pages or seasonal promotions.
